We wanted to share the milestone with those that helped us reach it, and once again, our community was there for us!
The old adage ‘it takes a village’ rang true, our celebration’s success was due to the collective efforts of so many. Our staff team really pulled together; they took on extra duties, shared in the anticipation and excitement, some even volunteered their time to ensure the party went as smashingly as it did!
Our suppliers generously donated their wares, funds, time and/or prizes so that over the course of the festivities all bellies were full and content. Many took the time to hand out samples themselves, even cooking it on the spot!
The fun entertainment we were able to offer was either donated or given to us at a reduced rate – which allowed us to keep the party going longer and stronger.
Our volunteers, be they friends or family, worked tirelessly, many for all 3 days of the celebration. Without so many ‘helping hands’ we could not have pulled it off.
Overall we were touched by all the people that took the time to come down to Glenburnie Grocery and help us commemorate 50 years of growing our community roots! Your kind words, surprise flowers and speeches, as well as enthusiastic participation, meant the world to us.
Bottomline, thanks for the past 50 years together, we look forward to many more!
